Map of the 180mi Emmett/Lowman Ride. Left my digs at 9am with Bruce, and we followed Warm Springs Blvd by the Boise River to Hill Rd, the northmost east-west connector to ID-55. After getting gas at the Beacon Light Rd Chevron at ID-55, we continued west to northbound ID-16 and Emmett. Stopped at the Blue Ribbon Bakery in town for a good, filling Idahoan breakfast. :)

After leaving Emmett, we rode east on ID-52 otherwise known as Black Canyon Rd to the outskirts of Horseshoe Bend. North on ID-55 to Banks where we cut east on ID-17 to the Chevron here in Garden Valley. This view faces southwest to the West Central Mountains.

Several miles west of Lowman is this scenic overlook of the South Fork Payette River from ID-17. This 33 mile stretch is called the Lowman-Banks Rd, and is designated as the Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway. The river offers world-class rafting and kayaking.

Here's one of the Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway signs facing west about 100 yards from the ID-17/ID-21 jct in Lowman. Although I was riding east, had to turn around for this photo op. There were a couple of other pixs btw Garden Valley and Lowman that I wanted to take, but those will have to wait until the next ride out here.

Mores Creek Summit is the highest elevation btw Lowman and Idaho City. This view faces north just past Milepost 52 as it was a much better background shot than the southbound sign here on ID-21. Known as the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway, this is a popular route for motorcyclists thanks to the challenging twisties.

Stopped here on Daggett Creek Bridge located at Milepost 24 on ID-21. The dirt road going west from this bridge goes to several neighborhoods in the mountains. This view faces north with ID-21 on the right.

This was taken on a small private bridge overlooking Robie Creek, and is nothing more than yet another self-serving image of my ride. Had taken 32 pixs on this loop, and only 6 of them were decent enough to include on this page after I got home at 2:30pm. At least the backgrounds were, uh, different, right? =8^)
